Helping farmers, horticulturalists and conservationists restore life to their soils.

We offer practical solutions and expert insight on regenerative agriculture and soil health to optimise farm productivity and ecological resilience.

Farm-scale Soil Restoration

Put science into practice with a custom restoration programme for your soils, based on our proprietary process for creating and applying biologically complete compost products at farm-scale. We work with you over several seasons using continual analysis to test and adjust the programme, making sure your investment in soil health stays on track to yield real results.

Soil Analysis

You can’t change what you don’t measure. A healthy soil food web has a transformative effect on agricultural land management, but what does that look like? Our expertise at getting the balance of microorganisms right means our microscopy and reporting service does more than simply track change, it accelerates it with practical recommendations.

Mentorship

Be part of the movement. We believe land managers focussed on soil health are the solution to many of today's challenges; vulnerable ecosystems, nutrition and food security, economic resilience and more. Our mentorship programme focusses on the practical application of essential soil science, sharing insights that candidates can then apply to their unique environment while building a community of like-minded change makers.

About Nick Padwick

Soil Food Web Consultant

With over 40 years of experience and 30 harvests, there's not much Nick doesn't know about farming. Nick studied at Sparsholt Agricultural College before moving to Co-operative Farms Group. Nick has managed several farming Estates, including the flagship Stoughton Estate, where he and his wife developed the Farm to Fork project. In 2009, Nick won the Farmer’s Weekly Farm Manager of the Year and Farmer of the Year Awards. In 2010, he joined the South Pickenham Estate where he managed a diverse 7,500 acre farm. Since 2018, Nick has managed the Ken Hill Estate, including the nationally-acclaimed Wild Ken Hill project, and led Peddar Farming, which farms over 5,000 acres in Norfolk.

Over the years, Nick has grown increasingly concerned about the damage we're doing to the soil and recognised the importance of learning more about soil ecology. He is now a fully qualified consultant and mentor through Dr. Elaine’s Soil Food Web School, has furthered his learning with Nicole Masters and is passionate about supporting fellow farmers in transitioning to regenerative practices. Nick has launched Wild Soils to share his experience and expertise with farms in the UK and overseas.
